CHEF TON WON NO.3 & ART OF HOSPITALITY AWARD FROM THE WORLD’S 50 BEST RESTAURANTS
Chef Ton (Thitid Tassanakajohn) is the first and only Thai chef to win the Art of Hospitality Award and to have two restaurants listed in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants in history.
Since the opening in 2020, Nusara received numerous awards, debuting at No. 3 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list in 2023 and earning a place on the extended list of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants in the same year. Additionally, Nusara was awarded the Art of Hospitality Award in 2024.
Chef Ton calls the food at Nusara “Colorful Thai Cuisine” The cuisine here neither traditional nor modern. In fact it is something unique and has never been done before. He wants the foods to represent his grandma characters, old but joyful and also represent the area of Ta Tien where the modernness and history are aligned. Start with many playful bites and going in main courses with family style of Nusara.
Nusara is named after Chef ton and Tam’s (his brother) grandma. It is the memorial we want to create and honor our beloved grandmother. She raised us since we could remember. She cooked for us, fed us and shared with us the love of good food. When she passed away, we missed her dearly and decided that to keep her close to our hearts; opening this restaurant is our way to do so. Nusara is created from the pure love we have for her and Thai cuisine.
